Kelp is a generic name for over 300 species of large brown algae that belong to the order Laminariales. Our Kelp is Saccharina latissima (formerly known as Laminaria longicruris), commonly called "Sugar Kelp", also known as "Wild Atlantic Kombu," because of its similarity to Japanese Kombu.

Kelp "Wild Atlantic Kombu" is available in Whole Leaf ONLY.

Our kelp granules (available in shakers or in bulk) are now a blend of Alaria esculenta and Ascophyllum nodosum. See Kelp Blends page.
